To support mountains of anecdotal evidence, there have been an increasing number of clinical trials to validate and quantify the benefits of Reiki. Below is a very partial list, to give you an idea of how this work is being approached and by whom. Due to copyright considerations, I cannot give you access to all these studies, but I’ve provided links to further information when possible.
It is abundantly clear that more, quality research is needed, and I’m working towards that goal as quickly as possible via several avenues. If you know any researchers or students of medicine or mental health looking for an incredible opportunity, please have them get in touch. I am fortunate to have a number of enthusiastic colleagues eager to shed more light on this subject for members of the medical community who are still in doubt.

I believe in the connection between mind and body; and the powerful effect of healing within the biological, spiritual, and psychological systems.
As an Bio Field practitioner and Facilitator who understands how the body has an incredible ability to heal with the right circumstances, I have done Reiki and healing touch in hospitals, cancer centers, and private practice. I believe in self practice, so I practice what I do and teach.
Every Reiki session is individualized to the needs of the client. I hold the following Reiki certifications: Reiki Usui / Holy Fire Master / Karuna Master / Medical Reiki Master Practitioner.
As a healing touch practitioner, I have volunteered my time at Adventist Medical Center in Hanford, CA performing Reiki sessions for cancer patients. I have also trained students to do Reiki sessions on cancer clients.
I have completed Mindful Meditation training and studies at UCLA IPP Program. I also facilitates the Stanford University Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP) in Solano County.
For the past 4 years I have volunteered at the Charlotte Maxwell Clinic and have coordinated an online Riki Circle for their clients.
I am trained in Medical Reiki inside the surgery room. For private clients I am able incorporate pre and post surgery Energy Session to promote quicker healing. I have coordinated with UCLA, Kaiser, Adventist, Cedar Sinai, UC San Francisco, St. Helena and Queen of the Valley hospitals. I have worked with clients in person and distance sessions.
Healing Touch is a relaxing, nurturing, heart-centered energy modality that uses gentle, intentional touch that assists in balancing physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Classified by the National Institutes of Health as a bio- field therapy and nursing intervention, Healing Touch may be used to address the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA-1) diagnosis of “Imbalanced Energy Field.”
Healing Touch is a collection of standardized, noninvasive techniques that clear, energize, and balance the human and environmental energy fields. Healing Touch assists in creating a coherent and balanced energy field, supporting one’s inherent ability to heal. It is safe for all ages and works in harmony with, is complementary to, and may be integrated with standard medical care.
Participants learn about the research basis that suggests Healing Touch is beneficial in calming anxiety and reducing symptoms of depression, decreasing pain, strengthening the immune system, enhancing recovery from surgery, complementing care for neck and spine problems, deepening spiritual connection, supporting cancer care, creating a sense of well-being, easing acute and chronic conditions, and supporting resilience in health care providers.

Healing Touch is used in a wide variety of settings including hospitals, long-term care facilities, private practices, hospices, and spas. Healing Touch was founded in 1989 as a continuing education program for nurses, massage therapists, other health care professionals, and lay persons. Today, Healing Touch is taught in universities, medical and nursing schools, and other settings around the world.
The first session involves a consultation in addition to the Healing Touch session. The provider will ask a series of questions about your physical, mental, and emotional situation, and will answer questions about Healing Touch. Then you lie fully clothed on a massage table while the provider gently places his or her hands slightly above or on the body. The session generally lasts 40 to 60 minutes, and people frequently report feeling deeply relaxed and peaceful during and after the session.
